Opening Day – JULY 10, 2014
Thank you for your patience and support as we trudge through the County’s Permit process.
One of the events that we offer to our community are weekly Food Demonstrations. Have a love of cooking? Of food prep? Of sharing your passion with others? Of helping others learn how to prepare and eat locally grown, fresh foods? This is the place for you! Know someone that this is a perfect fit? Please share this with them!
Food demonstrations can be a hands-on teaching demo, a taste test of freshly prepared foods, or an educational piece featuring information on healthy eating and living. We would like to showcase locally grown produce. The options for a demo are only limited to what your imagination can do!
We have a small stipend available to purchase fresh, locally grown produce from our vendors to use for the demonstration. We also provide a propane-powered cook stove, a portable handwash station, a cooler, canopy, tables and chairs, and disposable taste test materials. Other supplies may be available upon request.
In return for doing this valuable community service, we would like to offer you the opportunity to advertise your business while you do so – perhaps a banner hanging from the table telling us who you are; perhaps flyers for folks to take home with them? No business to advertise? No problem! C’mon over and do it for the pure joy of it………..
And now for the Exciting News you have all been waiting for! The Damascus Fresh and Local Market is moving to a new venue! We will be located on the St. Paul of Damascus Lutheran church grounds (24510 SE Highway 212) and are very excited to call this beautiful space our home! The move offers many benefits – some of these are listed below:
1. This site is on Hwy 212, located about halfway between Damascus and Boring.
2. The parking lot is paved and there is a lawn as well. Plenty of parking. Plenty of room for market growth.
3.Trees on the west side will shade the market after about 4-5 PM. A big plus for an afternoon market.
4. The area is recognized as a community area. There is a church, a school, and also a little league park with seating, etc.
5.The site is relatively level. No dust! Relatively quiet!
6. Beautiful trees, bushes and flowers make it a lovely space to come together in community.
Due to this change, we will open the Market on June 19, 2014 and look very much forward to seeing you all there!
Vendors are still being accepted – if interested, please let us know soon!

The Damascus Fresh & Local Market has an excellent choice of pastries. Petite Patisserrie offers french bread wrapped in newspaper, rolls, and sweets. Ingreedients has excellent cookies, pies, and cakes that goes well with the coffee offered by the Green Corps Fresh Start kids. If you can resist such treats as this (right) then you have undeniable willpower!
Be sure to take a good look at our planter. The rain and cool weather have been good for the plants and lots of colors are starting to blossom out. Want to know how it came to be? Check out the story on our Facebook page.
